In the wise words of Bob Dylan – ” each of us has his own special gifts and you know this was meant to be true, so if you don’t underestimate me,butterfly animals_other_beauty-nature_68732 I won’t underestimate you.”

A particular kind of  suffering I see with clients, students and friends, is the confusion and pressure they experience about whether they need to be someone that they aren’t or whether or not they should try to change there core qualities such as sensitivity. Rejecting our core is truly painful. We are who we are – sensitive, feisty, introverted, extroverted, slow to process, fast to process, moody, caim and a mix of any of these or more qualities. The world is rich because of diversity.

I’ve been involved in a research project on the green eyed monster. Although  envy is a universal emotion which humans have experienced throughout time,  it is amplified in a competitive and consumer-based Western world. If we can focus more on bringing forward our internal gifts, our own uniqueness into the world, we will be much more rewarded and fulfilled.

It’s your birthright to be yourself and express your own unique gifts. Do Bob proud.
